When it comes to consuming content, videos are quickly rising in the ranks.
It is estimated that people watch over 500 million hours of videos every day on YouTube.
Then, we also have TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and so many other platforms where videos are created and uploaded in bulk.
HubSpot points out that video marketing is also on the rise.
In the next few months, more and more companies are expected to make video marketing a core element to their overall digital marketing campaigns.
There are even reports suggesting that using videos can enhance revenue by a whopping 49% compared to those who don’t use videos.
Now, I make a living making web marketing videos, and let me tell you that the Internet is a scary place.
Your video has to resonate with your target audience or the backlash will be huge.
Having got my fair share of criticisms, I am sharing a few useful tips that you can remember when creating a marketing video next. Trust me, it’ll be great.
Always cut the cutter before uploading a video
Cutting away the clutter (editing) is the most important part of creating great marketing videos. You cannot ignore or skip this step.
It doesn’t matter if you have recorded the video yourself, captured some screens, or have put together clips of popular videos, you need to refine the final video.
Luckily, when it comes to editing you’ll find endless options. I have been personally using the iMovie app because it is easy to use.
The app allows me to quickly trim the video files and remove unnecessary clutter and maybe add some music and titles as well. I can change the aspect ratio, add overlays and filters, scene transitions and so much more.
Another tool that I enjoy using is the Adobe Premiere Elements app.
Remember to use the right tools
The Internet offers myriad video creation tools that can be used to quickly create a professional-looking marketing video.
While I used to enjoy working on Animoto before, it quickly became redundant during the coronavirus pandemic.
I didn’t have any new images to choose from on my computer or even phone gallery.
So, I shifted to 4k downloader Mac. I feel that the 4k video downloader is a must-have utility if you want to create amazing videos because this app lets you download videos from YouTube, along with other popular platforms like Twitch, Facebook, and TikTok.
Furthermore, it gives me total control over the videos that I’ve downloaded.
I even get to save 360-degree videos for playback on VR headsets and more. I can select the quality of the download and even get audio that I can use.
If you haven’t tried it yet, do it once. You’ll be able to grab media from across the globe and embellish your video.
Clear, crisp audio is a must
The audio quality should be just as good as the video quality.
This is because a lot of people do watch videos that are not in HD (to save data!), but they will like the video as long as everything else is good – which means the audio.
You cannot use indistinct, fuzzy audio that will make people stop playing the video, no matter how good the visuals are.
Since audio is so important, the first piece of equipment that you need to invest in is a good microphone.
You might even get a mic which would be fine. Also, you need to work with audio editing tools like Adobe Audition, GarageBand, or Audacity.
These are tools for Mac because I create videos on Mac. Although Adobe Audition will also work on your Windows computer.
Last, but not least – create videos that your viewers wants to see!
Even though I am mentioning it at the end, the entire purpose of creating marketing videos is this. Your market research has to be strong.
You need to find out what your audience is expecting of you and the kind of videos that they are already consuming on the web.
You have to pull the data and ensure that the videos are created in accordance with your audience.
At the end of the day, your viewers will decide the fate of your video.
So, you cannot ignore their likes and dislikes. Also, sharpen your storytelling skills to keep your viewers hooked on for more.
So, these were a few tips that I feel that a lot of people miss out on because they seem too obvious. But, be warned, they aren’t simple. These form the crux of video creation and you cannot skim over any of those processes.
Hope this helps to get you started. Also, remember to keep experimenting to find your flair.
